As we devise our plans for what we want to accomplish in life, we often things of every tiny detail but do we trust God to get us there? Do we look for what God’s plans might be for our lives?

Finding God’s Plans

First off, let me say that there is nothing wrong with making plans. Making plans and setting goals is an important part of life. We must be careful to make sure that we make God a part of that process. Operating within God’s Will for your life should be our greatest desire as Christians.

The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps.

In order to find God’s plan, you must first pray and ask Him to show you the path He has for your life. As you set your goals and make plans, ask God to bless your goals and to set your path. Staying on the path set by God will ensure success!

Trusting in God’s Plans

Trusting in God’s plan is probably the hardest thing to do. Making plans and setting goals is the easy part. Even asking God to set your path is not difficult. The hard part comes in trusting the path that God has set before you and staying on track.

The world is full of distractions and alternative ways to think and do things. It is easy to get tossed about and it makes you question the direction you are going. Getting lost on the path can only happen if you take your eyes off of God’s purpose.

Unwavering Trust

Is it possible to have trust that doesn’t waver as life gets difficult? Absolutely! Having daily time set aside for prayer and to read the Bible will give you the resolve to stay on course.

The verses of Proverbs 3:5-6 say it best, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” These verses explain that through trust and submission to God’s Will that our paths will not be crooked.

This doesn’t mean that we won’t have bumps along the way but it does mean that God is there to guide us through them. If we are seeking His will then He is ready to help us on our journey. When making plans, make sure you leave room for God to direct your path.

Follow the Plan

So, go ahead and make plans and set goals but pray over them and ask for God to bless them. Ask for His guidance and direction. Leave room for God to send you on detours because the blessings may come on the paths that you didn’t expect to take.
